Teaching Kids to Teach Themselves is an exciting new soccer video created to match the developmental needs of player's ages 4 and older. By focusing on creative games that teach particular skills this video is perfect for the recreational league parent coach with limited soccer experience. The simple format allows coaches to pick a specific skill they would like the players to work on, and then choose from a variety of fun games that focus on that skill. In doing so players will be able to discover and learn the basic skills they need on their own while instantly become engaged in the practice. Coaches can now be relieved of the stress of demonstrating unfamiliar skills, keeping players attention, and having to set up boring practice drills.
What makes this video unique to other videos on the market is that it was created by schoolteachers and coaches who understand the very specific needs of young children.
Executive producer John Boucuvalas brings to the video ten years of certified teaching experience with first, second, and third grade students in addition a highly accomplished soccer background as a player, coach, clinician, and youth league director.
Another unique feature of the video is that is was created with the non-soccer person in mind. Throughout the video information is kept simple, short, and easy to understand. New coaches will see how our coach briefly explains the game, then see a two to three minute sample of the game being played, and then once they have a general idea of the game the will receive more detailed information regarding set up, points of emphasis, and variations on the game. This video also includes a bonus section of the video where coaches get some practical and insightful advice with the help from the players themselves. These tips will further assist coaches to reinforce some of the key ingredients to connecting with the youngest age players so we as adults can match our goals with their level of development.
